Roy Greenslade is Professor of Journalism at City
University London, writes a daily blog about the media for The
Guardian website and is the media columnist for the London
Evening Standard. He has been a journalist for 48 years,
starting on a local weekly and then a regional evening. He has
worked for most of Britain’s national newspapers. He was editor
of the Daily Mirror, 1990-91. He is the author of three books,
including a history of British newspapers, Press Gang.
